The province of Albay will welcome ultra runners from across the Philippines and beyond for the Albay Ultra 2026, a 100 and 50-kilometer endurance event along the awe-inspiring backdrop of the majestic Mayon Volcano.

This road ultramarathon challenges runners to traverse Albay’s scenic highways, heritage towns, and rolling roads, passing through different municipalities and cities offering a panoramic view of Albay’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.

Each stride offers a unique perspective of Albay’s natural wonders, from the fiery silhouette of Mayon at dawn to the vibrant greens of Albay.

Rules and Guidelines:

  1. Participants must be physically fit. This is a rigorous race, so please ensure you are in good health and have trained accordingly.
  2. Minors are not allowed.

  3. The runner must present an updated medical certificate upon race kit claiming (6 months valid).

  4. Non-refundable Registration: Once registered, the payment is non-refundable. Please ensure that you are committed to participating before completing your registration.

  5. No Registration Transfer: Transferring registration to another participant is NOT allowed. Please ensure that you complete the registration with the correct details, as changes will not be accepted once finalized.

  6. No changing of shirt or singlet size. No race kit claiming after the event.

 

Safety is our top priority. By following these guidelines and being properly prepared, you can enjoy a fun and safe race experience. Please come equipped with the necessary gear, stay hydrated, and listen to event marshals and organizers throughout the event.

 

During the Event:

  1. No Bib Number Changes or Substitutions: Bib numbers are non-transferable. Participants must race under the bib number they have been assigned. Changes or substitutions will not be allowed.
  2. Bib Numbers Must Be Visible: Bib numbers must be clearly visible at all times during the race. Bib must be placed in front. This is for identification purposes and ensures you are easily recognized by race marshals and event staff.
  3. Strict Cut-off Times: Cut-off times will be strictly enforced throughout the event. No exceptions will be made, and participants must reach certain points within the designated time to continue the race.

  4. Declaring a DNF (Did Not Finish): If you need to declare a DNF, you must notify the race director or the nearest marshal. This is crucial for safety and tracking purposes. Do not leave the course without informing an official

 

Rules for Disqualification:

Participants will be disqualified from the race if they are found to be in violation of any of the following rules:

  1. Loss or Alteration of Official Bib Number: If the official bib number is lost, altered, or becomes illegible at any point during the event, the participant will be disqualified. The bib must remain intact and visible at all times.
  2. Cheating or Shortcutting: Any participant found cheating (e.g., shortcutting the course, running off the designated path, or tampering with course markings) will be disqualified. This includes any action that alters the integrity of the race or gives an unfair advantage.

  3. Participation by Unregistered Runners or Unauthorized Pacers: Only registered participants are allowed to race. Unauthorized runners or pacers (those not registered for the event) are prohibited from participating in the event. Any participant found with an unauthorized pacer or an unregistered runner will be disqualified.

 

Protest Procedure:

If you wish to file a complaint regarding any issue that occurred during the event, please follow these steps:

  1. Submit a written, signed complaint to the race organizer.

  2. The complaint must be submitted within 24 hours of the event.

  3. All complaints will be reviewed, and the race organizer will address the matter in accordance with the event’s rules and guidelines. Protest fee Php 2,000.00.

 

Support Vehicle Guidelines

To ensure the safety, fairness, and smooth flow of the race, support vehicles are allowed but regulated under the following rules and guidelines:

 

1. Vehicle Registration & Identification

  • Each support vehicle may have at maximum of two registered runners.

  • Support vehicles must be registered via email at outdoorstatement@gmail.com to receive a vehicle tarp layout.

  • Only vehicles with official race tarps are permitted on the race route.

  • The recommended type of vehicle is a compact SUV, pickup, or van — large buses or trucks are not allowed.

2. Role of the Support Vehicle

Support vehicles are primarily for:

  • Providing hydration, nutrition, and basic gear to their assigned runner.

  • Offering first-level support (rest, clothing change, gear switch).

  • Transporting the runner in case of withdrawal or emergency.

  • Strictly no pacing or towing — support crew must not physically assist or run alongside the athlete beyond allowed crew zones.

3. Route and Parking Rules

  • Vehicles must park only in designated support zones.

  • No stopping or parking in narrow roads, blind curves, or areas marked as No Support Zone.

  • Drivers should be alert and courteous to other runners and road users.

  • Flashing hazard lights and reflective markers are mandatory during night support hours.

4. Crew Conduct and Safety

  • Crew members must wear reflective gear at all times.

  • Littering, shouting, or blocking the course will result in runner disqualification.

  • Crews must comply with race marshal instructions at all times.

  • Alcohol consumption during the event is strictly prohibited.

5. Violations & Penalties

Failure to follow support vehicle rules may result in:

  • Warning or time penalty for minor violations.

  • Disqualification for major offenses (e.g., unauthorized pacing, illegal parking, vehicle interference).

  • The support vehicle system is designed to enhance runner safety and comfort, not to give unfair advantage. Cooperation and discipline from both runners and crews ensure a smooth and memorable race experience
